Nephelin-Syenite

Origin: Turkey

Nepheline syenite is a coarse-grained, silica-deficient igneous rock composed mainly of quartz-poor alkali feldspars such as orthoclase or microcline, along with the mineral nepheline. This unique composition makes it an important raw material in various industrial applications.

Its low silica and high alkali content make nepheline syenite especially suitable for glass and ceramic production, where it provides alumina and alkalis without adding excess silica. It is also used as a functional filler in paints, plastics, and coatings due to its whiteness, chemical stability, and low iron content.
